after three months of top-notch colour placement, stand-out cuts, and jaw-dropping results, the best-in-hue winners for 2026 have been crowned.
by taking out this years competition, natalie and jamie will be flow to australia to work with the evo creative team at our next photoshoot.
jamie richards
congratulations are in order for jamie richards (@jdixhair), whose entry blew our judges away. this shag isn't playing it by the rules. jamie used bold colour blocking and complementary tones to create depth and enhance shape with maximum impact and minimum effort vibes, proving that placement is everything.
jamie set out to create a look that was playful and wearable with a touch of something special, and it certainly got our judges attention.
his advice to fellow colourists? keep exploring your craft and create work that excites you. “the more you lean into what genuinely inspires you, you’ll keep loving your talent.” he says.
natalie mcleavy
a round of applause is due for natalie mcleavy (@nataliemcleavy_hair) who brought our judges a leopard look that is anything but a copycat. natalie brought her summer leopard to life through a buzz cut tattoo, combining hueverse and staino to create a bold, playful interpretation of a spotted classic.
natalie leant into having fun with shapes and colours to create her summer leopard look. “a buzz cut is a great canvas to work on” she says.
her words of wisdom to others in the hue-verse? take yourself out of the box and just enjoying playing with colour.

we want to see the whole shebang: an excellent colour that has been elevated using styling to create a stand-out cohesive look
the perfect hue-verse formula
to be eligible for best-in-hue, entries must use hue-verse demi or permanent colour, and divulge the formula used to create the look. for the first time this year we are accepting entries that have additionally used fab pro or staino.
top-notch technique
we know that evo hairdressers and stylists are talented beyond belief… so we’d love to see you push yourself out of your comfort zone. we’re looking for interesting, clever and appropriate technical placement of colour that enhances the overall look
